How to use Candela
You do not need to be technical. You can start with just their name, and if you get stuck, email us.
Create a memorial
Go to Create a memorial and type the name they were known by. Add a photo of them if you have one, then save the memorial.
Add the visitation and the funeral
Add the date, time, and place of the visitation and the funeral, and the card shows them. On the evening of Mo’s visitation, his card shows Visitation, tonight, 6:00 PM, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, and on an iPhone it appears on the lock screen. You can add them while you create the memorial, or later on its details page. If the services have already taken place, you can leave this out, and the card still works.
Add to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet
Open the memorial page on your phone and tap Add to Apple Wallet or Add to Google Wallet. There is no app to download. Once it is added, the card stays on your phone.
Export
You can ask us for a full export at any time. If we close, you get 90 days notice and a full export. We cannot promise that Candela will always be here, so we promise you a full export instead.
